John lewis newcastle supports radio lollipop’s work
21 October 2005

Radio Lollipop Newcastle have received a bumper donation of toys from their local branch of John Lewis.

After writing to the company to find out whether they would be able to supply any reduced price or free toys, the station’s fundraiser Emma Palmer was given a large donation of toys to support play work with the under 5’s.

The donation included toys which were slightly damaged when on display or may have been bought and returned. As a result, many of the toys were unsuitable for sale in the store for cosmetic reasons but were incredibly useful as gifts for patients at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.

We would encourage any stores who have similar toys to consider donating them to their local Radio Lollipop station. You would be amazed what we can achieve with toys that would otherwise just be thrown away.

Radio Lollipop Newcastle would like to thank Denise Nunn and Leslie Slavin at John Lewis for their efforts in rescuing the toys for Radio Lollipop.

If you think that your business, school or leisure group would be able to help your local Radio Lollipop station in ny way…please get in touch via the “contact” page here on the website. No donation is too small and it’s not just money that we collect!
