Anyone for tennis?
5 January 2013

The Funky Friday team at Brisbane’s Mater Children’s Hospital hosted a tennis night on 4 January to coincide with the summer season of tennis and the Brisbane International.

While the level of play displayed by Serena Williams and Andy Murray wasn’t on show, it was obvious there were some brilliant tennis players on the wards destined to improve their rankings. Playing with their own carefully crafted tennis racquets and specially developed Radio Lollipop tennis balls, the children hit lots of winning shots up and down the hospital courts….oops hospital beds. Winning smiles were all the more obvious as the children sported their special tennis gear compliments of the Brisbane Open and sponsor Suncorp. James, Matteo, Dino and Luca all enjoyed their games while Emily kept everyone in suspense as she hid behind her tennis racquet mask. The Funky Friday team enjoyed the night so much they all posed for courtside photos.

A very special thank you to Brisbane International and Suncorp for the tennis merchandise. It went down a real treat with the kids!
