Kind words of thanks ~ Libby Renton

On Tuesday 23rd of April, the 501st Legion WA Squad came into Radio Lollipop’s Perth studio for a surprise visit to the children… read more of the story here.

Later that week Radio Lollipop received some beautiful words of thanks…

Hi Radio Lollipop Team @ PMH,

I would like to thank you for lifting the day for my daughter last Tuesday. She spent the day at PMH having a challenge test for a peanut allergy. She was highly anxious about this and when she failed the test and needed an epipen, her fears were realised.

Fortunately she was in safe hands and has now faced her worst fear, coming out more prepared should she ever need to use an epipen in the future. However, the thing that really helped her when she was feeling very low, flat and probably still a bit scared, was when volunteers with Radio Lollipop visited the ward where she was recovering. They were dressed as Star Wars characters and she is a bit of a Star Wars fan. Some of them gathered around her bed and played a game of Uno with her, making jokes about being “Masters of the Unoverse” and generally making her smile for the first time that day.

Even though she was in hospital for such a short time, compared with many other young people, the Radio Lollipop visitors really made a positive difference. She is now going to approach some of her teachers at school to see if she can do some fundraising for Radio Lollipop, having been personally touched by the great work that you do.

Thanks and regards ~ Libby Renton

Thank you for your kind words Libby, we hope to continue to make children smile during their time in Hospital.
