The Jetstar Gold Coast Titans have helped spread some much needed cheer among sick children at Radio Lollipop at the Gold Coast Hospital last week.

A large group of Titans NRL squad members, headed by Ken Stephen Medal winner Preston Campbell, visited Radio Lollipop to try and help put some smiles on the faces of the sick children at the hospital. The group signed autographs, posed for photos, chatted with the kids and conducted a range of activities including hand painting and colouring in.

Campbell even chipped in with some indigenous art while hooker Nathan Friend showed he too was not out of place with a paintbrush in hand! The team members brought some huge smiles to some of their youngest fans (not too mention their parents!), with many excited children overjoyed to see their biggest fans up close and personal.

Titans duo Brett Delaney and Daniel Conn took over the airwaves for a period, answering some questions from the kids on Radio Lollipop.

The Titans Community Foundation also donated a signed jersey which will be auctioned at a fundraising evening tonight. Organisers are hoping it will help raise $2000 for Radio Lollipop.

“It’s good to be able to give up some of our own time to come and talk to the kids,’’ said Campbell .

“Some of the kids aren’t feeling the best at the moment, so it’s nice to be able to sit down and have a chat with them and their families and hopefully bring a smile to their faces.’’

The Titans will visit Radio Lollipop again later in the season as part of the club’s commitment to making a difference in the community, we can’t wait to see them back on around the wards!
