Top gun team visits the kids at the mater children’s hospital
11 May 2009

Friday night the wards were roaring with a visit from some of the Royal Australian Air Force’s F111 crew – Vlad, Jake and Adele.

They brought along a show-bag as a keepsake for the children and this included caps, waterbottles, photos and posters of the aircraft and firefighters within the Royal Australian Air Force. These pictures resulted in many WOW’s and wide eyes as the children and parents alike asked many questions of our pilots.

Vlad also brought in his pilots helmet which intrigued many of the children – although the mask and eye shield did become a little too much for some. There were many photos taken which will be sent out as a lasting memory of this special visit at the hospital.

The next time we see the F111’s travelling at 2000km/hour performing the infamous dump and burn we will be reminded of this special visit and the keepsakes so kindly given to the children by the RAAF.

Our thanks go to Vlad, Jake and Adele for creating such a WOW night for the kids and families and our Funky Friday Team.
