Radio Lollipop Newcastle are pleased to announce that they have received an Awards for All lottery grant to put together welcome packs for children entering hospital.

Press/PR officer Helen Hudspith explained

“We have worked hard to put together a proposal that Awards for All would appreciate was of value to the children. The welcome packs will have a range of craft and play materials to keep the children busy in their first few hours in hospital but they will also be a bit of a treat – something to cheer them up.

We anticipate taking delivery of most of the items for the pack including pens, pencils, colouring pencils, notebooks, rulers, erasers and baseball caps towards the end of this month and should be able to give out the first of the packs in May.

Happy kids get better quicker and we hope that the packs will put a smile on the kids faces and keep them alert and active”.
