Newcastle awarded a grant by just for kids
16 April 2005

Radio Lollipop Newcastle has just received the wonderful news that we have been awarded a grant by local charity “Just For Kids”, the official charity of Metro and Magic 1152. The grant of £1750 will help to cover the expenses of running the sustaining radio service for children at Newcastle RVI for another year. The service provides a 24-hour radio service for sick children at the hospital at times when there are no presenters available to perform live shows.

The “Just for Kids” charity provides grants to charities based in the Metro and Magic 1152 radio coverage area and is well-recognised within the region. It is even supported by high profile celebrities like Ant and Dec. We are very grateful that the charity has considered us worthy of a grant and it will free up any other money we are able to raise this year to be spent directly on prizes and games for the children.

The cheque will be presented to Radio Lollipop Newcastle within the next month. It follows another donation from Student Community Action Newcastle (SCAN) after they organised a tombola and lollipop sales to raise money for the Newcastle branch.

If you would like to organise a fundraising event for any of the branches of the charity, feel free to contact us through the website. Any help is very much appreciated!
