Stars on the rise sing for their lollipop
27 April 2005

Primary 4/5 at St. Andrew’s Primary School, Gorebridge have turned their hands to stage production as part of their Enterprise project. The 24 highly enthusiastic pupils have been involved in the organisation of a range of events throughout the year to raise money for their chosen charity, Radio Lollipop.

The grand finale to their enterprise is a talent show superbly titled ‘Stars on the Rise.’ The show has taken the class months of preparation and is sure to be a memorable night. The acts participating in a bid to win the show include dancers, singers, a pianist and comedians.

The school will be turned into a top theatre for the night, filled with glamour as two of Radio Lollipop’s volunteers enter by the red carpet to pose as the infamous Sharon Osbourne and Simon Cowell. They will have the difficult task of choosing the overall winner.

The audience guests will be ushered to their seats where they will be able to relax and be entertained by the Primary 4/5’s as they perform a medley of some much loved ‘Rat Pack’ songs, before watching the 11 acts demonstrating their talents. These will of course be introduced by two glamorous compares.

It is anticipated that as well as families and fellow pupils, joining the audience will be representatives from Midlothian Council and with luck, some celebrities.

The pupils have already raised a fantastic £396 and it is hoped proceeds from the show will take them over the £600 mark.

This is a must see event and takes place on Thursday 5th May 2005 at 7pm in St. Andrew’s Primary School hall.
