On May 5th 2005, a small team from Metro and Magic 1152 and their official charity “Just For Kids” came to visit the children on ward 7 at Newcastle RVI.

They brought with them lots and lots of goodies and toys to give out and enjoyed meeting the children who are benefitting from all of their hard work. Radio Lollipop Newcastle was given a grant of £1750 by Just for Kids to maintain the Radio Sustaining service and to help us to get up and running on patientline.

There were some famous faces around on the day. Presenters Ingrid, Dan Black and Kenny all gave up their morning off to come and see us, and Sunderland commentator Simon Crabtree enjoyed some lively banter with Newcastle fan Aaron.

Ingrid said “It was our pleasure to come and see you all today. I know we all had a great time and felt really welcome thanks to Radio Lollipop and the team on the ward”.

Radio Lollipop Newcastle are very grateful for the support of Just for Kids and enjoyed the visit very much.
