Big happenings in texas
5 March 2004

Texas Children’s Hospital is celebrating their 50th Birthday in 2004 and they have started off the year in Texas-style (for all you non-Texans, that means really BIG!). In January they held a 50th Birthday Gala and to start the festivities for the day, Hillary Duff made a guest appearance at the hospital and stopped by Radio Lollipop to visit patients and answer some questions about being a celebrity teenager. {By the way, she does have a curfew and chores to do!}

The Governor of Texas, the Mayor of Harris County, and the President of the United States (George Bush, a Texan), declared Tuesday, February 3rd, as Texas Children’s Day. In honor of this special day, David “the Bubble Boy’s” Mother, was invited to the celebration. She stopped by Radio Lollipop to visit with the patients and read the proclamations from President Bush and the Governor on the air.

There are a lot more activities planned throughout the year and we’re busily working on ideas for our 5th Birthday Celebration in October. So stay tuned for more exciting news from Texas!
