Radio Lollipop Glasgow AGM – The end of an era at Yorkhill

Radio Lollipop Glasgow held their last AGM at Yorkhill Children’s Hospital on Sat 21st Feb, and what a day it was….

First of all, a massive thank you to all our volunteers who were in attendance, and to everyone for their support over the years at Yorkhill Children’s Hospital. I think we can all agree when we say it is going to be an exciting year ahead with our move to our brand new facilities at the Southern General later this year.

We started the AGM with all management team reports, who have all done a fantastic job over the past year striving to raise funds for the big move. We then had a great update on the move from our chairman and a presentation of awards long service volunteers, well done to all of you!

Last and by no means least, we had a visit from Kirsten, at the Yorkhill Children’s Charity, who have been a great support to Radio Lollipop and Yorkhill over the years, and we cannot wait to work with you in the years to come at the new hospital. The Yorkhill Children’s Charity very kindly donated an absolute staggering £30,000 to help us move to the new hospital and ensure that we continue to provide our invaluable service to the children and families of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children. We cannot thank the charity enough for this amazing donation and we will ensure we make every penny worth it…

Hedley Finn MBE, Founder Radio Lollipop says “Securing this £30,000 funding for the new studio shows the fantastic relationships which exists between the Radio Lollipop chairman, management team, volunteers and the hospital staff, and patients within the sick children’s hospital at Yorkhill. Very well done.”
