What everyone wants

Johan Visser is Chief Executive of Brown and Jackson and Chairman of What Everyone Wants Ltd – whose first store opened in Glasgow in 1971 and has now expanded to over 100 stores throughout the UK. “WEW’s generous support – has enabled many more children to be linked to the radio” What Everyone Wants (WEW) adopted Radio Lollipop as its charity in 1998 and for its first national fund raising enterprise the staff transported a huge Lollipop from store to store around the UK. This event raised £62,000 for Radio Lollipop. In 1999 they organised the First Ball in Glasgow, donating £107,000 to Radio Lollipop. The Second Ball in 2000 raised £115,000 and for this year, the Team is still counting. The 2001 Ball had a record attendance, including various members of the Radio Lollipop Board. Glasgow Volunteers were on hand to help out with the auctions, raffles and a tombola. In addition, individual stores around the UK, including in South Wales, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man all raise money locally and Radio Lollipop would like to say a big THANK YOU to all involved throughout What Everyone Wants. WEW’s generous support – has enabled many more children to be linked to the radio. These donations are enabling two new Radio Lollipop studios to be opened while other stations have extended their service so they can reach many more children. Equipment has been upgraded, playrooms redecorated and new toys and activities offered to the children.
