Oz comes to edinburgh!

Volunteer Kate Munro from Radio Lollipop in Brisbane popped in to visit the team in Edinburgh and experience a ‘Wacky Wednesday’ in Scotland.

Kate joined Edinburgh volunteers, Ashleigh, Claire & Dougie and took part in a best joke competition. Unfortunately she lost with ‘what do you get if you cross a kangaroo with a sheep?’… ‘A wooly jumper’!

Thanks for visiting us Kate!

Dulux paints in association with bunnings donates generously from the dulux easter promotion

Dulux Paints in association with Bunning Warehouse, rocked up to the Radio Lollipop studio to present a cheque of $1,970.00 donated from the 2010 Dulux Easter promotion.

Jenny Dobson, Tim Wilson and Rob Brierley from Bunnings Warehouse all came along with Michael Salvage the Account Manager Q’ld for Dulux, handing over the whopping cheque to Maria Hoult, one of Radio Lollipop’s Play Coordinators and Chairperson for the Gold Coast station Dougie Alderton, which was gratefully received on behalf of Radio Lollipop. A special thanks to Maria for making an effort to accept the cheque on the day.

All of this money will go directly towards the purchasing of items to make up the welcome packs that go out to each child patient that Radio Lollipop attends to during our sessions.

Both Dulux and Bunnings Warehouse have been greatly involved in helping us throughout the past year. Dulux with their second year of Easter promotions, now totalling $4,400.00 and Bunnings giving near equal amounts in Arts, crafts and equipment, together with a commitment to provide craft activities up at the Radio Lollipop studio every first and third Tuesday of each month, throughout the year.

Thank you Dulux and Bunnings for your support and generousity, it’s supporters like you that keep the kids smiling and in good spirits!

Horizon power goes ‘casual for a cause’

Sally Stryk, Chairperson of Horizon Power’s Social Club, kindly coordinated “Casual Fridays for a Cause” encouraging staff to donate money to wear casual clothes on Fridays.

Horizon Power is a State government owned power company. Throughout the second quarter of 2010, the staff raised more than $2,500 for Lollipop!

And the best news is, due to the success of “Casual for a Cause”, Horizon Power’s Social Club has offered to support Radio Lollipop from March until June, every year!!

The funds raised will go towards Radio Lollipop’s 25th Anniversary celebrations at Perth Zoo on Wednesday, 3rd November.

A big thanks to Sally and all of the social club members for their support.
