Team Lollipop race to the finish line in Southampton half marathon

Five Radio Lollipop fundraisers joined more than 6,000 runners to take on the challenge of the first ABP Southampton Half Marathon.

Heading up Team Lollipop was Lee Donnarumma, Radio Lollipop fundraiser, along with team mates Andrew Banda, Steve Jackson, Richard Dooler and Rob Jesson.

After the race, Lee said “It was a cracking day, but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t hard work. I had set myself a sub 2 hour target, but must have got carried away in the excitement of the day, because I crossed the line in 1hr 43m.  I’ve never run that fast before, and doubt that I ever will again”

Dressed in Radio Lollipop branded running tops the team were cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd of up to 30,000 people who lined the route from the start at Hoglands Park to the finish line at Guildhall Square.

All five completed the 13 mile course in under 2 hours raising a combined total of £595 for the Southampton station.

  • Andrew Banda 1hr 45m 36s
  • Steve Jackson – 1hr 53minutes 02seconds
  • Lee Donnarumma – 1hr 43minutes 37seconds
  • Richard Dooler – 1hr 42minutes 38seconds
  • Rob Jesson – 1hr 41minutes 07seconds

Buy a Scentsy Buddy for a sick child in hospital this Christmas

Support Radio Lollipop and the sick children of WA and buy a Scentsy Buddy which will be delivered to sick children at Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth this Christmas.

In 2012, Tanika Mitchell’s 3 year old daughter Maddie was hit by a car. Happening right in front of her eyes it was something she will never forget. They were flown to Princess Margaret Hospital for treatment and spent many weeks over Easter in Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth which was hard on Maddie and the family. Maddie snapped her leg in two places and broke her thumb. They were extremely lucky and Maddie made a full recovery.

Tanika is very thankful to PMH, Radio Lollipop and the amazing charities that provide care and assistance to young children and their families in hospital.

This Christmas, Tanika would like to sell as many Scentsy Buddy’s as possible and will donate every Scentsy Buddy sold to a sick child in hospital. Proceeds from the sale of each Scentsy Buddy will be donated to Radio Lollipop.

To purchase your Scentsy Buddy contact Tanika Mitchell on 0403 993 481 or email tanikamitchell@hotmail.com .

Radio Lollipop Director Lisa Leong talks about Radio Lollipop on ABC Radio

Radio Lollipop Australia Director Lisa Leong talks to ABC radio about Radio Lollipop and the 2015 Chain Reaction Women’s 300 where Radio Lollipop is one of the beneficiaries.

The 2015 Chain Reaction Women’s 300 is a three-day, 300km bike ride event targeted directly at females that have a keen interest in cycling and an awareness of their corporate social responsibilities. Whilst the format of the event is somewhat different to Chain Reaction’s seven-day events, the theme is very much the same – executives embarking on a challenging ride to raise much needed funds for kids in need.

Further information is available from Tim Chadd on 03 8623 3475 or tchadd@chain-reaction.org.au.
