Jordan jansen hits radio lollipop gold coast with our own mckensie comer.

The two Gold Coast stars in the making came up to sing for the children at Radio Lollipop Gold Coast with fans waiting patiently outside the hospital for autographs.

Mckenzie, our regular guest from 2009 bought with her, the very talented Jordan Jansen, who has performed in front of crowds of more than ten thousand people. Jordan had no problem belting out songs to all the children in our studio. Both Mckenzie and Jordan had everyone singing along ending in rapturous applause.

After walking through the wards signing autographs and having their pictures taken with adoring fans, it was back to the studio to get their hands painted for our “wall of fame” and interviewed by our studio announcer of the evening little Ms Jessybells.

The children really enjoy these evenings and it was quiet an emotional experience for all. A big thank you to Mckensie and Jordan for a wonderful concert and I’m sure will be back again soon here at Radio Lollipop on the Gold Coast.

Burger king supports radio lollipop in miami

On Thursday February 25, 2010, representatives from Burger King visited the Thrilling Thursday team in order to spend a night in the shoes of a Radio Lollipop volunteer.

The Burger King team not only brought props and a positive attitude but they also brought a great activity for the kids to do. The kids were given a small “make your own crown” kit that included stickers, plastic gemstones and other embellishments. The team also provided us with toys and a fun activity packet for the kids to complete. Once everything was ready, the Burger King representatives were paired up with Thrilling Thursday volunteers and were given the opportunity to go out and visit the rooms. The representatives passed out activities, interacted with the patients, picked winners and delivered toys. In fact, many of the Radio Lollipop volunteers noted how outgoing, helpful and natural the Burger King representatives were.

At the end of the night, the Burger King team expressed their admiration for the program and told us that they had a great time. Without a doubt Burger King’s visit to the Radio Lollipop studio was a great success!

Mr “j” has got tongues wagging at radio lollipop gold coast

Radio Lollipop Gold Coast has no shortage of magicians but Mr “J” is a very talented magician all the way from Korea. Mr “J” came in especially to show off his amazing talents to the children, families, nurses and volunteers.

Once again from the fabulous Gold Coast Volunteering Troupe we have been provided with entertainment like we have never seen before.

Mr “J” carried out feats of magic to a spellbound audience. He had everyone’s jaws wide opened by floating tables, mysterious lights appearing from nowhere and disappearing here, there and everywhere.

Mr “J” certainly knows how to get the children giggling with his musical magic and quirky style and he has really had an amazing affect on the children here on the Gold Coast.

Mr “J” is waiting to hear on his audition into the “Australia’s Got Talent” show, We wish Mr “J” every success and we hope he will come back very soon to share in his success with the children and show off more fantastic magic.

Broncos create a buzz

Ashton Sims and David Hala from the Brisbane Broncos took some time out of their busy pre-season schedule to visit the Terrific Tuesday team at the Mater Childrens Hospital.

Children came together in the studio to do some painting and there were smiles all round when they were received a surprise visit from the Broncos players.

The Boys then headed up to the wards where many children got their photo taken as a keepsake of this special visit. The wards were a buzz with the excitement caused by our special visitors and no doubt many stories will be shared with family and friends alike when they return home.

We wish the players all the best as they are about to start their 2010 season.

Thank-you to Ashton and David for coming to Radio Lollipop and the team at Brisbane Broncos for helping to arrange this visit.
