Backpacking bear makes his way around the globe!

‘Scot The Bear’ made his first trip recently. All the way from Radio Lollipop in Glasgow over firstly to Dallas, Texas with Glasgow volunteers Charlene Petersen and ‘Smiley’ Stewart Priest, and then south to Houston where he was named by 13-year-old Chase (pictured with Scot). He is soon to make other trips abroad with Glasgow volunteers, clocking up the miles as he goes.

It’s all in aid of a competition being run at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow where the kids have to guess how many miles Scot will do between now and Christmas.

If you fancy having a guess at how many miles Scot will do, email glasgow@radiolollipop.org

Have a go – there’s nothing to lose!

If you go down to the woods today…

A teddy bear’s picnic was held at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow on Saturday 31st May. The sun came out for the Radio Lollipop crew of volunteers, who were on hand to provide their usual care, comfort, play and entertainment for the kids. There was plenty of fun, dancing and competitions with the biggest bear in Glasgow up for grabs.

Two of our regular presenters were on hand for the fun and shinnanigans. A great day was had by all and we have been asked to do a guest spot at the annual Yorkhill ball on Saturday 7th June.

Radio lollipop and yorkhill make it official!

Radio Lollipop has established a very positive name for itself in Yorkhill over the past 11 years. This would not have been possible without the tremendous support received of staff from all over the Trust, as well as the dedication and professionalism of the Radio Lollipop volunteers.

Radio Lollipop and Yorkhill NHS Trust officially recognised this successful partnership at a historic signing of a Service Level Agreement between Brenda Townsend and Margaret Pullin Trustee for Glasgow Radio Lollipop on Monday 19th May.

The signing forms the basis of a relationship between Yorkhill and the Trust that is certain to grow from strength to strength as time goes on.
