Vroom vroom go-kart champion races into the gold coast!

Go-Karting champion, Mat Pigram, came to visit the children at the Gold Coast hospital on the 11th of June with his speedy140km/hr Go-Kart!

An expert racer, Mat came first in his class race at his last meeting. His flash Go-Kart is fully decked out with colourful red & white Radio Lollipop branding!

Many of the children wanted to come and sit in the Go-Kart – imagining what it’s like to race along the wards at speeds of 140km/hr. Some of the children sat in the Kart and put on his helmet, looking like very cool racing professionals!

Mat was interviewed with some tricky questions about his racing career by some of the children in the ward and then had his hands painted for our now famous Radio Lollipop handbook of fame. Afterwards it was off on a lap around the wards to visit the children at their bedside for photo shoots and more drilling by the children.

We are so grateful to Mat for allowing us to cover his Kart with our logos, bringing much need exposure to Radio Lollipop wherever his race meetings are.

Wishing Mat every success for his next meeting in Lismore on 21st June and hoping Mat will come back soon to tell all about how his year is progressing!

Brisbane roar visit radio lollipop mater

What an awesome night it was last night! Massimo Murdocca, Luke DeVere and Roary from the Brisbane Roar Football Team came in to visit the children at the Mater Children’s Hospital.

We didn’t realise what a huge football following we had at the Mater, the kids and their families were thrilled to receive a visit from the Massimo, Luke and Roary. The show started with an on-air interview with Massimo and Luke giving the kids some great football tips. We also found out a few home secrets and that Luke’s favourite flavour for Lollipops is anything berry and that Massimo is a fan of the Wiggles!

On the wards Roary was causing chaos amongst the kids, messing up their hair and frightening the nursing staff. The nursing staff in Ward 8 East may have had a little trouble sleeping last night after being shocked to see such a huge Lion roaming their wards.

Massimo, Luke and Roary gave away signed autographed posters and footballs for all the kids. Lots of children also had their photo taken and Radio Lollipop will soon be posting their photo out to them.

A huge thank you to Massimo, Luke, Roary and the Brisbane Roar Football team, we loved having you visit and look forward to your return very soon. We wish the team all the very best in the pre-season.

Check out Luke, Roary and Massimo with some of the Thrilling Thursday Team.

New lil’ suckers at tch

Houston is growing new Lollipopers! This awesome group of eight can’t wait to join Terrific Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday and Thrilling Thursday teams. Summer is a perfect time to start volunteering for these folks. Some of our volunteers are home from college on summer break but you don’t need to be a home from Harvard to know Radio Lollipop is the best way to find excitement this summer. These Lil’ Suckers finished training this week so look for them as they join the Radio Lollipop team at Texas Children’s Hospital.
