Hibernian fc footballer pays a visit to radio lollipop

Hibernian FC goalkeeper Graham Stack, made a surprise visit to Radio Lollipop at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh this week. He was interviewed live on air by one of the Thursday night team members Louise, and by Hibs fan Lauren Gilhooley.

Graham also took the time to visit children on the wards with the Radio Lollipop volunteers, bringing delight to many patients and their families. He happily signed autographs and spent time talking to children, bringing smiles and laughter all round.

Radio Lollipop would like to thank Graham and Hibernian FC for the visit and their support!

Hot tomato 102.9fm visit radio lollipop gold coast for a lesson in how our radio studio works

Hot Tomato Radio Presenter Jess Capolupo, Newsreader Keegan Buzza and Producer Lauren Richardson all came into the studio of Radio Lollipop Gold Coast on Thursday 14th January to have fun with the children, play silly games with everyone and to give out prizes for the children.

Jess showed off her artistic talents with the paint brush and made some pretty hot tomato’s, whilst Keegan and Lauren showed their competitive side in the table tennis and Jenga game, although couldn’t topple the Jenga King.

As usual the presenters took a grilling by one of the children “Mitch Johnston” on the radio and Mitch was awarded free tickets to Sea World for the impressive interview. The Hot Tomato team made sure every child in the wards had a visit. They then headed back to the studio and entered our now famous “hand wall of fame” getting very messy with the paints.

The Team from Hot Tomato 102.9FM has been extremely enthusiastic and supportive of Radio Lollipop and have offered to come back and visit again throughout the year. We are delighted to be associated with Hot Tomato 102.9FM.

Check out our team: Back (L-R) Dougie, Jess, Lauren, Karin, Keegan, Jess, Bobbi and Gary. Front (L-R) Rene, Maria and Rachael.

Christmas morning in birmingham!

Christmas morning at Radio Lollipop in Birmingham, where the Lollipop Crew were joined by firemen from the local fire station and of course, Father Christmas! We all managed to get round to every single child in the hospital with a gift. Many thanks to the firemen who help us with this every year and a big thank you to the kind nurses at the hospital, who help Radio Lollipop to provide care, comfort and entertainment to children in hospital, all year round.

Kano from the balloon kings is number one in 2010 at radio lollipop gold coast

2010 and Kano from the Balloon Kings, rushes in to Radio Lollipop Gold Coast especially to be the very first special guest for the 2010 program.

Kane, affectionately now known to us as “Kano the Volcano” erupted on the wards, to once again amaze and mesmerize the children with a “larv-ter flow” of wonderful “smolderingly hot” balloon animals from out of his magic bag. Making request after request of weird and wonderful made to order balloon animals.

Around the wards Kano made sure every child received their very own special balloon. Making giant sized dummies for the little ones, donkeys, dinosaurs and dangerous animals for the older children, little pigs and flowers for the parents and even a special Radio Lollipop spider for our friend Kaleb who watched every move. (Check out the photo).

We can’t thank Kano and the Balloon Kings enough for all their support in 2009 and we are delighted they are supporting us once again throughout 2010. We hope to see Kano and the Balloon Kings team back again soon with more amazing balloon tricks.
