The lobby of Miami Children’s Hospital was filled with yummy smells of Valentine baked goods, February 12th! Volunteers Juan, Linda, Rhoni, and Melissa donned Radio Lollipop aprons as they sold sweets and smiles. Under the direction of Juan, we sold wonderful home baked goods donated by the volunteers. Brownies, cookies, cupcakes, cakes and lollipops brought smiles to everyone and over $500 in proceeds. It was such a successful and fun event that we plan to do it again!

The Radio Lollipop Australasian Conference is being held in Auckland New Zealand from 4 – 7 March 2010.

Whilst on vacation in Miami during February 2010, Andy (Radio Lollipop Chairman for Birmingham), took the opportunity to visit the Radio Lollipop studios at Miami Children’s Hospital. Andy (and partner, also a Radio Lollipop volunteer obviously!) was given a fantastic welcome, a tour of the studio and the Play Area and was able to meet with the rest of the ‘Wacky Wednesday’ volunteer team in Miami, headed up by the magnificent Brittany! Andy took away lots of ideas for Birmingham, as well as various Miami goodies from the studio, including a tape recording from a recent show! A fantastic afternoon/evening – not spoiled one little bit by a torrential rainstorm on the way home – at least it was warm rain! Thanks to everybody at Radio Lollipop in Miami for your hospitality, particularly Brittany, thank you for taking the time out to show us round and sit-in on your show – a great experience and a great hospital and volunteer team.
