Former patient surprises radio lollipop gold coast

A surprise visit from former patient Sarah and her dad Jim will bring joy to loads of children at the Gold Coast Hospital for many years. Sarah came into the Radio Lollipop studio on the Gold Coast with a massively gesture of kindness and thoughtfulness.

Sarah having previously been in hospital and fully understanding what it’s like first hand to be in need of stimulation through the power of play, has personally and very kindly donated her own impressive dolls house to the Radio Lollipop playroom for all the children in hospital to share.

This dolls house was lovingly hand crafted for Sarah by her grandfather three years ago. Complete with loads of added extras, this act of generosity from a very special young lady has truly touched the hearts of all our volunteers. Sarah desire to give back, brings home the ideals behind volunteering and shows us all how someone so young can be so mature in her eagerness to help others.

A big thank-you from everyone at Radio Lollipop to Sarah and her family who can rest assured their gift will bring much joy and happiness to thousands of children at the hospital.

Gold coast blaze visit radio lollipop gold coast

The Gold Coast Blaze once again found the time to support Radio Lollipop Gold Coast just before an important match away from home. It was a super visit from Chris Goulding taking on all the children at various challenges throughout the visit.

Chris became Jenga King and tried his hand at Uno, and arts and crafts with less luck before moving onto a proper grilling and in depth interview by one of the children on the radio. Multi talented Chris showing off his uncanny Michael Jackson moon walk.

After making sure every child in the wards had a visit and were given a welcome pack along with signed poster, Chris who is six feet four inches returned to the studio for a traditional photo shoot with all the volunteers of the night and each volunteer trying to reach heights they’ve never been before.

Gold Coast Blaze have been keen supporters of Radio Lollipop over the years and are again supporting us here on the Gold Coast, by coming along this Saturday to our “Kids Day Out” extravaganza out at Sister Higman Park, at Southport.

We wish all the guys a very successful season this year and hope they achieve top position for a top team in all our eyes.
