Radio lollipop joins in 10th anniversary celebrations at the royal childrens hospital, bristol

Over Easter and the bank holidays saw the 10 anniversary year of the Royal Bristol Children’s hospital! Events included themed parties including a medieval party (see pictured Lollipop volunteers Kate, Ellie and Gemma!), an outdoor street party for the wedding, indoor tea party and even a visit from former celebrity patient Matt Cardle (swoon)! Lollipoppers were actively involved and proud to be a part of the celebrations which also encompassed our annual easter giveaway. Radio Lollipop has been within the hopsital for its 10 years and in Bristol for 27 years in total!

Bunnings continues to support radio lollipop gold coast

Beads, bunnies and Easter egg baskets were just a few of the items our good friend’s at Bunning’s bounced into Radio Lollipop with this Easter.

The first and third Tuesday evenings of each month, two Bunning’s volunteers come to Radio Lollipop on the Gold Coast armed with DIY craft activities for the kids to do. For Easter, Bunning’s volunteer Alan, helped the kids make fabulous painted Easter bunnies and Easter egg baskets.

Over the Easter weekend Radio Lollipop was the beneficiary from a Bunnings and Dulux campaign. For every 4 Liter Tin of Dulux Paint sold at any one of the five Bunning’s stores on the Gold Coast on Easter Saturday, $5 is being donated to Radio Lollipop.

We also had Radio Lollipop volunteers selling Radio Lollipop merchandise and lollipops at the Southport store raising a fantastic $260. Thank you to everyone who donated. This money will be used to purchase items such as face paints and other craft materials for the kids.

A special thank you to Jenny and our friend’s at Bunning’s on the Gold Coast. We really appreciate all you do for us at Radio Lollipop. You guys are champs!

Newcastle has its own princess katie!

Royal Wedding celebrations continued today as Radio Lollipop Newcastle went around the wards creating sparkly, dazzling crowns to celebrate the happy day.

Pictured is our very own Princess, Katie, who came along with her brother Kieran to visit their step-brother Callum and enjoyed the Radio Lollipop fun and activities whilst they were visiting.

The team also made Royal Wedding bookmarks and designed some lovely rings and carriages for the wedding day.

Esmeralda (the Radio Lollipop witch) even received a lovely ring from one of the volunteers – that made her day. George said

“I just got a bit carried away with the celebrations…Esmeralda and I won’t be eloping any time soon”!

Don’t forget, if you are a regular patient at Radio Lollipop in Newcastle, and want to see what Esmeralda is doing each week on the wards, she has her own facebook page – just click here to follow her and find out more.
