Radio lollipop helps the mater children’s hospital celebrate its 80th birthday

The Mater Children’s Hospital recently celebrated its 80th birthday. This milestone was marked with a superhero themed party in the Circus of Dreams. The guest list was made up of heroes, heroines and other notable characters including, Superman, Supergirl, Batman, Spiderman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Buzz Lightyear, Snow White and even a Knight in shining armour.

Party activities included mask decorating, colouring in and face painting. The superheroes also enjoyed playing on the playground and eating large slices of delicious birthday cake. Queensland Reds footballer, Beau Robinson, made a special guest appearance and many of the children were very keen to meet him and have ‘Reds # 1 Fan’ painted on their arms.

Of course, Radio Lollipop can’t resist a party and two ward visiting volunteers joined in on the fun to assist with face painting throughout the morning. The superhero guests had high expectations, but all left with smiles on their faces and artworks on their cheeks.

A fabulous time was had by all and it was a pleasure for Radio Lollipop to be invited to share in this very special day.
