Looking at Danielle Scorah’s smiling face you would never guess what she’s been through in her short life.

Danielle, 5, has a very rare medical condition which has meant she has spent a lot of her life in hospital but also a lot of time in the Radio Lollipop Studio on the Gold Coast.

Our volunteers at Radio Lollipop Gold Coast have come to know this gorgeous girl and her family very well and she is now the international face of Radio Lollipop. Her picture featured at our Radio Lollipop UK Conference Pack and her photo covered Radio Lollipop chocolates.

We love having Danielle visit the Radio Lollipop Studio on the Gold Coast and we hope she’s feeling much better really soon.

Our very own Miss Lollipop made a special guest visit at the recent Gold Coast Show. She sweetened the show by handing out lollipops to everyone she met.

Both our Fundraising Coordinator, Harley, and Play Coordinator, Tania, were on the cooking show in front of the crowds to raise awareness of what we do for the children at Radio Lollipop on the Gold Coast.

The Gold Coast Show ran from Friday 2nd September to Sunday 4th September. Through our stall of merchandise, run by our wonderful Radio Lollipop Volunteers and some great help from friends and family, we raised a fantastic $513 over the three days. These funds will go straight towards buying crafts, games and other important things so we can have more fun on the wards with the kids at Radio Lollipop Gold Coast.

Thanks to the organisers of the Gold Coast Show for allowing us to have our stall and hope to be a part of the Gold Coast Show for many years to come.

New volunteer Rich O’Sullivan and Bristol Chair Person Kate Harris went out busking to raise some money for Radio Lollipop Bristol on Sunday 25th September.

Despite suffering from tonsilitus, in true professional “the show must go on” style, Rich belted out some great tunes, some well known songs and some songs he had penned himself, to the customers of Gala Bing Hengrove (where he works), whilst Kate utilised her collecting monies skills, waving the Radio Lollipop collecting bucket to all who walked through the main foyer.

Thanks to the generosity of the customers we collected £112.81!

Radio Lollipop Bristol turned 27 on 29th September! Yay! To celebrate we had a party in the main playroom, with face painting, party games and a live special Birthday show courtesy of DJ Geminem!! The theme was film and cartoon characters and volunteers dressed up as allsorts of characters including Lilo from Lilo and Stitch, Rupert Bear, Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtle and a Dalmation!! We also went out on to the wards to visit the children who couldn’t come to the playroom and gave out Birthday goody bags. A fab time was had by all!
