Mad hatters in brisbane have crazy fun at willy wonka high tea

The Super Saturday Team from Radio Lollipop at the Mater Children’s Hospital have held another fantastic fundraising event! After setting a high standard at last year’s Mad Hatters Tea Party, they did not disappoint this year in delivering an equally enjoyable Willy Wonka themed event. With over 100 guests in attendance, lively and challenging trivia, and fabulous culinary delights, this event is sure to remain one of the social highlights of the year.

BYO tea cups complemented the creative handmade table decorations and were admired by all. The food was delicious, plentiful and beautifully presented. The team were charming hosts and ran a highly successful event raising over $3500 in much needed funds for Radio Lollipop.

Congratulations to the Super Saturday Team for pulling off another incredible effort towards fundraising for children at the Mater, Logan and Gold Coast hospitals. A big thank you to our sponsers: Clarins, Bazaar Contortion, Stradbroke Island Holidays, Tom’s Confectionery, Ed’s Hire and Bob’s Hire for their generous donation of raffle prizes on the day.

We can’t wait till next year!

Radio lollipop rocks at the first ever lollifest!

Local bands and singers got together for a one-off performance raising £460 for Southampton’s Radio Lollipop as well as introducing the charity to a whole new audience.

Proceeds from Lollifest 2012, which took place at the Talking Heads, Portswood, on Friday 20 July, will help provide care, comfort and play for children at Southampton General Hospital.

Artists who kindly gave their time for free to help the volunteer-run radio station were: The Dog House Boat Boys, Ben Goddard & The Heartbeats, Brother Goose, Bryony Marie Fry and Dave Mitchill.

Such was the success the station is looking to repeat the event in 2013, so forget Glastonbury, Reading or Bestival …… Lollifest is the new name in the festival calendar!
