Dry January helps Radio Lollipop Southampton refurbishment drive

A Radio Lollipop supporter had a dry January to help kick off the Southampton studio fundraising campaign.

John Norman – son of long-time Radio Lollipop national support team volunteer Denise – has donated £584 towards the £40,000 needed to rebuild the Southampton studio and play area.

John traditionally has a booze-free January and this year established a Just Giving page to gain support from his friends and colleagues.

“Mum has been helping out Radio Lollipop for as long as I can remember,” said John, 37, who is a director of a TV and video production company.

“She has a soft spot for Southampton as it was the home of the Whitbread Round the World Race that raised the original money to get Radio Lollipop Southampton established.”

John, who lives in Surbiton, South London, added: “Every little helps and I hope others will come up with their own fundraising ideas.”

Radio Lollipop Newcastle fundraise at ASDA Gosforth

Radio Lollipop Newcastle continued their great relationship with a local supermarket ASDA in Gosforth by doing a bucket collection which raised a fantastic £391.   Just have to love the photo of our fundraiser Lydia with a lovely lady Joan on the check-outs – what a difference for the check out staff to have warm and friendly company for the day too.

In addition to that we have also been chosen as one of their chosen charities for the “Green Token Scheme” – so hopefully more good fundraising news to follow very soon.
