Glasgow is seeing stars!

We at Radio Lollipop (Glasgow) know we have an award winning team already, but to prove it even more the team have decided to honour our volunteers and show how much we really appreciate the work they put into making Radio Lollipop what it is.

Raymond Watson was awarded the longest serving volunteer of the RL Glasgow station and yes has been here for a long time you can see the cobwebs at the back of his ears, Calum Chisholm for outstanding achievement he has showed over the past year with his skydive and just being there to help out in any way he can & David Bell for his fantastic work he has put in over the past few months on creating a promotional DVD for the Radio Lollipop Pr team to use!

Once again big well done to them and remember this isn’t the last award we are giving away you could be next!

The bunnings bunny bounded into radio lollipop gold coast

Easter has come and gone but not before the Bunnings Easter Bunny hopped into the Radio Lollipop studio to visit the children at the Gold Coast Hospital Southport.

Coral and Jenny representing Bunnings Warehouse brought with them the Easter Bunny to surprise all the children over Easter. The children had heard there was an Easter Bunny hopping around and was on the search to see if they could find Bunny.

The excitement on all their faces as Bunny appeared (larger than expected) but beautiful none the less, was priceless. Bunny had a big big basket of chocolate eggs for all and then some, no one was left out, including the mums, dads and nurses.

Once again Radio Lollipop would like to thank Bunnings Warehouse for their massive support and the association we have with them. We look forward to continuing the fun and laughter with the children throughout the year.

Fundraising at brisbane produce markets

On Saturday we attended the Brisbane Produce Markets at Rocklea, Queensland to do balloon sculpting for the children and shake tins for donations.

This would not have been possible without the help and support of Ellen, Narelle, Anne-Marie, Tony, Emily, Sara, Matt and Emily-Jayne. For most of us we learnt Balloon Sculpting on the day and the children enjoyed the swords, flowers and puppy dogs that we were able to create.

This community support is vital for us being able to continue to provide our Radio Lollipop service to the children at the Mater Children’s Hospital and Logan Hospital in Brisbane and these funds will be used to purchase craft supplies and games so we can continue to provide a variety of activities for the children.

A big thank-you to Bruce Holland and the team at Brisbane Markets for providing this spot for free and helping us achieve a total of $474.45 for half a day’s work. Thank you also to the community of Brisbane that supported us.

Dundee’s spring fling ceilidh

On Saturday 27.March.2010, Dundee held their first fundraising ceilidh at St. Peter and St. Paul’s Parish Church. The Phenobarbitones played great ceilidh music and all our guests were happy and eager to dance through the evening and win raffle prizes. A whopping £275 was raised for the children on ward 29 at Ninewells Hospital.
Thank you to all who have attended and we hope to see you at our next event.
