Fundraising event in Perth, WA really sizzles!!

Earlier this month RL at PMH Hospital in Perth held a sausage sizzle fundraiser at Bunnings in Armadale. The day was a huge success (despite underestimating how many sausages and drinks we’d actually sell and running out of stock in the first 3 hours!)

A definite WOW moment was meeting a lady who had been a patient at PMH when she was 10 and remembered winning a prize from Radio Lollipop for a competition where she drew an Aussie Santa!

At the end of the day, we were able to raise….$898.58!

Thank you to Jeanette, Kristi, Steve, Emily and James for helping to the day such a success!

Radio Lollipop at PMH in Perth, WA Bedpush

Back in September the members of the Western Australian Medical Students’ Society organised a Bedpush event in aid of Radio Lollipop at PMH in Perth, WA. Portia Smallbone and Cassie McCloskey are the Lookout Representatives and the organisers of the event this year.

Portia told us, ‘We started with a group of medical students who push a hospital bed throughout the streets of Subi every year raising money for our chosen charity. This year it was you guys! The parade started at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital on Friday morning, we had lots of generous donations throughout our epic push of a bed decked out with balloons, teddy bears, food and lots of stickers. We walked along Thomas St, Hay St, Rokeby Road before finally ending up at Princess Margaret Hospital. We were dressed in our PJs and made lots of new friends. Thanks to everyone who came down to support us’.

This year the event raised over $2100 for Radio Lollipop!! Thanks so much Portia, Cassie and everyone involved in the event. We really appreciate your fantastic support! From the photos it looks like you all had a great time

Rolling along for Radio Lollipop

THANKS to our wonderful supporters at Morley Rollerdrome, Radio Lollipop Western Australia kicked off its 30th birthday celebrations in style!  Since 9am this morning, Radio Lollipop volunteers, supporters and Morley Rollerdrome staff have been entertaining hundreds of families as they showcase their skating skills. Some of us knew better and stayed off the wheels, embracing the safety of solid ground and some craft, games and fun.

Mike from Run Mouse Run has completed some stunning caricatures for children to take home while Bec from KidzABuzz has been selling the latest issue of her activity book for children; part proceeds of which also come to Radio Lollipop.  This afternoon we will have a performance from Zumba dancers, the Cassanovas from NOVA 93.7FM will join the party as well as our friends from the 501st Legion tonight.

We’ll be skating until 9pm tonight with a goal of filling in the number on a big cheque for Radio Lollipop Western Australia.
