Broadwater Southport Rotary Continue to Support Radio Lollipop Gold Coast

What generous people are the Rotarians from Broadwater Southport in Queensland!

At a breakfast meeting on Queensland Day, 6th June, Pam Weymouth was presented with a cheque for $3,000 for Radio Lollipop at the Gold Coast by the Broadwater Southport Rotary Club.

It was a picture perfect morning on the Gold Coast with sunshine, sand and simply fantastic yachts in full view as Radio Lollipop and three other charities all received cheques in recognition for the great work undertaken for children on the Gold Coast.

The funds were raised through a ‘Bare your Souls’ fundraising day organized by the Rotary Club at the local Musgrave Hill Bowls Club.

Much needed storage space for the Radio Lollipop studio at the Gold Coast University Hospital will now be possible thanks again to the generous donation from the Broadwater Southport Rotary Club.

Thank you Rotary – you rock!

Royal Australian Air Force Continues to Support Radio Lollipop at the Mater Children’s Hospital

Radio Lollipop at the Mater Children’s Hospital recently had the pleasure of a visit from the Royal Australian Air Force!

Seven members from the Amberley Air Force Base joined us dressed in their full flight suits (including helmets!) and were loaded with show bags filled with Air Force goodies to give away to the children.

The theme of the night was (fittingly) paper airplanes, which led to some pretty fierce flying competitions! Many kids also found great joy in wearing the aircrew helmets and found inspiration for a possible future career.

There were also many sing-a-longs in the playroom with a parent picking up the guitar and providing the music!

Everyone involved had such a great night and we are looking forward to the Air Force coming back for a return visit very soon!
